Alex Konadu, born in 1950 in Adwumakase Kese, Ashanti, was a prominent figure in the Ghanaian music scene. He began his career with Akwaboah's Band, where he spent three years before becoming the lead vocalist of the Happy Brothers Band. After two years, he went solo, focusing on composing and practicing until he caught the attention of record dealer and producer A.K. Brobbey, who helped him form a band. Their uptempo guitar Highlife music quickly gained popularity, earning them the title of 'Best Guitar of the Year 1976' from the Entertainment Critics and Reviewers Association. Known as Wonderful Alex Kwabena Konadu and One Man 1000, he released numerous records over his long career. Alex Konadu passed away in Kumasi on January 18, 2011.
