Alfred Deller was an English counter-tenor singer born on May 31, 1912, in Margate, England. He played a significant role in re-popularizing counter-tenor singing and the use of period instruments for early music performances in the 20th century. Deller founded and directed the Stour Music Festival. He passed away on July 16, 1979, in Bologna, Italy. He is also noted to be the father of an unspecified individual.
