Alfredo "Sabor" Linares, born on January 27, 1944, in Lima, Peru, is a renowned Peruvian pianist, composer, and orchestra leader. He recorded afro Latin jazz in the late 1960s on the MAG label, producing two solo LPs and contributing as a guest pianist and arranger. In the early 1970s, Linares relocated to Cali, Colombia, where he became involved in the Salsa scene and recorded several salsa albums. Although he has always been a cult figure in South America, his profile gained international recognition in 2007 due to guest piano appearances on various recordings and his captivating performances in live shows.
