Alhaji K Frimpong was a renowned Ghanaian highlife guitarist, composer, arranger, and lead vocalist. Born on July 22, 1939, in Ofoase, Ashanti Region, Ghana, he began his music career in 1952 by joining groups such as the Axim Jokers, Star De Republic, and K. Gyasi's Guitar. In the 1970s, he formed his own band, Cubano Fiestas, and recorded with two different bands. He was the father of two sons who are rappers, known as K Frimpong and Kofi Kapone. Alhaji K Frimpong passed away on October 18, 2005, at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana.
