Alice Coltrane was an American jazz pianist, harpist, and composer, known for her innovative work in the genre. Born on August 27, 1937, she was the wife of legendary saxophonist John Coltrane and played a significant role in the jazz scene, particularly in the 1960s and 1970s. Alice was known for her spiritual and avant-garde approach to music, often incorporating elements of Indian music and philosophy into her compositions. She released several albums as a bandleader and collaborated with various prominent musicians. Alice Coltrane passed away on January 12, 2007.
