Alix Combelle was a French clarinetist and tenor saxophonist, born on June 15, 1912, in Paris, France. He began his musical career as a drummer from 1928 to 1931 and went on to work with many well-known jazz musicians in pre-WWII France. In the 1950s and 1960s, he recorded with American musicians visiting Paris. Alix Combelle passed away on March 2, 1978, in Mantes, France. He was also the father of another musician.
