Alla Rakha was a virtuoso tabla player born on April 29, 1919, in Jammu, India. He was a prominent figure in the Hindustani tradition and often accompanied various artists. He passed away on February 3, 2000, due to a heart attack, which occurred after he learned of his daughter Razia's death the previous evening.
