ALU is a band that originated from the remnants of a Krautrock group in 1979, featuring members Ludwig Papenberg (guitar, keyboards, drumbox) and Johannes Vester (vocals, keyboards). The band evolved in 1981 with the addition of a new member, transitioning into a live band with a distinctly different sound compared to their initial 7" release and their later studio album, which was recorded in 1980 and published in 2005. In 1982, Ludwig Papenberg departed, leading to the third incarnation of ALU with Johannes and Nadja. The project was officially disbanded in 1986.
