Alvin Cash was a soul, funk, and disco singer, songwriter, producer, and actor born on February 15, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri. He gained prominence in 1963 with his hit "It's Twine Time," performed with his band The Crawlers, later known as The Registers. Cash is also known for other tracks such as "The Ali Shuffle" and "The Philly Freeze." In the 1970s, he released a sole album that served as a tribute. Additionally, he appeared in the blaxploitation films "Petey Wheatstraw" and "Black Jack." Alvin Cash passed away on November 21, 1999, in Chicago due to complications from ulcers.
