Amadeo Tommasi was an Italian jazz pianist and composer, born on December 1, 1935, in Trieste, Italy, and he passed away on April 14, 2021, in Rome, Italy. Recognized as one of the most talented pianists of his generation, Tommasi gained prominence in 1960 during a radio show titled "La coppa di jazz." He participated in notable festivals in 1961, including the St. Vincent, Comblain La Tour, and San Remo Festivals, and was awarded first prize at the Bled Festival in Yugoslavia for the small ensemble category, where he received congratulations from John Lewis. Tommasi frequently performed abroad and recorded with various artists. Interestingly, before focusing on modern jazz, he played the trombone in the Dixieland "Panigal Jazz Band" in Bologna. Among his well-known compositions are "Ballata In Forma Di Blues," "Zamboni 22," "Autostrada del Sole," and "Ballad For Micheline."
