Aminata Fall is an Afro-Jazz singer-songwriter from Senegal, born in Guinea to Senegalese parents. She sings in Wolof, Bambara, French, and English, and accompanies herself on the piano. Her musical style is a blend of World Music, incorporating West African rhythms along with Western influences, and she is known for fusing elements of Jazz, Funk, and Soul. Aminata began her musical journey by learning the piano at the age of 10 in Dakar, Senegal. After completing her Baccalauréat, she pursued further studies at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris. While studying, she took additional courses with various jazz musicians in Paris. In 1986, she formed her first group and released her first record in 1987.
