Amira Saqati is a musical project founded by members of the successful Moroccan underground trance band Aisha Kandisha’s Jarring Effects. The group blends Moroccan and North African music traditions, including Raï, Gnawa, Berber music, and Jeel, with Western dance and ambient sounds. Their music features synthesizers and samplers alongside traditional instruments such as violins, mandolin, and flute, complemented by Rai-type vocals and electronic rhythms. Following their first release, "Agdal Reptiles on Majoun," they have now released a new album by Cheb Youssef and Pat Jabbar titled "al bharr" (meaning 'the Sea'), which is dedicated to the sea and its endless and mysterious powers.
