Amjad Ali Khan is an Indian sarod maestro born on 9 October 1945 in Gwalior, as the son of a Gwalior court musician. He is an exponent of the Senia-Barash gharana in its sixth generation and has been performing internationally since the 1960s. In 2001, he was awarded India's second highest civilian honor, the Padma Vibhushan. He has two sons who also play the sarod. In 2012, he published his first book, a personal memoir titled ‘My Father, Our Fraternity’.
