Amon Tobin is a Brazilian electronic artist born on February 7, 1972, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He began his career in the mid-1990s under a pseudonym while living in Brighton, UK. This alias led to a series of singles, EPs, and remixes, culminating in the album released in 1996. His work was originally released on a specific label and first appeared in the US on another label. In late 1996, he adopted an abbreviation of his own name and signed with a UK label, where he remained until the release of his album in 2015. Since 2019, he has been releasing music on his own label. Tobin's music has evolved from solo creations to collaborations, incorporating live instruments into his latest albums. His live performances have also transformed over time, featuring in various TV programs, films, and video games. After residing in Brighton for an extended period, he moved to Montreal, Canada, in 2002, settling in the industrial Old Montreal area to avoid noise complaints. In 2008, he relocated again, this time to San Francisco, California, USA.
