Joseph "Amp" Fiddler was an American singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and record producer from Detroit, Michigan. Born on May 17, 1958, he began his career in popular music by touring with the group Enchantment. In the mid-1980s, he joined George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic, where he toured worldwide and worked extensively as a keyboard player and co-producer on studio recordings. Throughout his career, Amp performed with notable artists such as Jamiroquai, The Brand New Heavies, Prince, Seal, and Maxwell. In 1990, he produced his own album and more recently released various singles for the UK Genuine label. He also collaborated with Carl Craig and participated in Planet-e's various projects, including Detroit Experiment, Moodymann, John Arnold, and Recloose. Amp Fiddler passed away on December 17, 2023.
