Amulets is the solo project of Randall Taylor, an audio and visual artist based in Portland. Utilizing handmade cassette tape loops and live processed guitar loops, Amulets creates lush soundscapes and immersive drones. The project focuses on the recontextualization of cassettes, sampling, field recording, and looping, resulting in long-form compositions that blur the lines between ambient, drone, noise, and electronic music.
