**Amy Winehouse** Born on September 14, 1983, in London, England, UK, Amy Winehouse was a British R&B, soul, and jazz singer-songwriter. Her debut album, released in 2003, was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, and she won an Ivor Novello award in 2004 for her debut single. Her second album, released in 2006, became one of the highest-selling albums of that year. From 2009 until 2011, Amy focused on touring, writing lyrics, and attending events with her boyfriend, Richard Traviss. She toured from December 2010 until June 2011, with her final performance taking place in Serbia on June 18, 2011. Tragically, on July 23, 2011, Amy Winehouse died at the age of 27 from alcohol poisoning at her home in Camden, London, UK. Posthumously, her label, Island Records, released "Lioness: Hidden Treasures" on December 2, 2011.
