Analogy was formed by four German musicians living in northern Italy, near Varese, along with two Italians: a keyboardist from Arona and a bassist. Initially named The Joice, their name was mistakenly changed by their record company, leading to their first single being released under this new name by the small Produzioni Ventotto label, distributed by Messaggerie Musicali. In 1972, after the departure of Rattaggi and the switch of rhythm guitarist Schoene to bass, the group adopted the name Analogy. They performed at significant concerts, including the Caracalla Pop Festival in Rome and the Be-In in Naples, although they remained relatively unknown outside of Italy and Switzerland. Their only album, which is rare and interesting, features rock-blues influences and showcases the strong vocals of their singer, with a distinctive cover depicting the group members all naked. In 1973, keyboardist Nicola Pankoff left the group and was replaced by a flutist. The band ultimately disbanded around 1974, having performed over 250 concerts in Italy and approximately 60 in Switzerland.
