Andrae Crouch was an American gospel musician, songwriter, and pastor, known for his influential work in the contemporary gospel music genre. He was born on July 1, 1942, in San Francisco, California, and passed away on January 8, 2015. Crouch was a pioneer in blending gospel music with other musical styles, including R&B and pop. He wrote many well-known songs, such as "My Tribute (To God Be the Glory)" and "Soon and Very Soon." Crouch received several Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. His group, The Disciples, was integral to his music career, performing his compositions and helping to spread his message of faith through music.
