Andre Brasseur is a Belgian organist and keyboard player, born on December 11, 1939, in Ham-sur-Sambre, Belgium. He has released numerous albums and singles in his home country, but he is internationally recognized for his double A-sided single "The Kid / Holiday," released on the CBS label in the UK. Although it did not chart in the UK, "The Kid" gained popularity at the renowned Northern Soul venue, The Twisted Wheel, in Manchester, while "Holiday" was used as the theme tune for DJ Noel Edmonds's Radio 1 program in the 1970s. Additionally, DJ Lex Harding featured "The Kid" as the opening sequence for his daily afternoon broadcast on Dutch pirate radio station Radio Veronica. Brasseur is also well-known for his 1965 instrumental single "Early Bird," which sold over 6 million copies worldwide and was named after the satellite launched that same year. In the late 1960s, his tune "Big Fat Spiritual" served as a theme song on French radio station Europe 1. In the late 2010s, he experienced a resurgence in popularity among Belgian youth and performed at a major festival in 2018.
