Andre Landero was a Colombian accordionist and singer known for his contributions to Cumbia and Vallenato music. Born on February 4, 1931, in San Jacinto, Department of Bolivar, he grew up in a musical family and learned to play the accordion at a young age. In his teenage years, he traveled with vendors and performers, entertaining audiences and earning money. Over his lifetime, Landero composed more than 400 songs and gained significant popularity throughout Latin America, particularly in Mexico. He earned the title of King of Vallenato through his famous songs, including “La Pava Congona,” “La Muerte De Eduardo Lora,” “Marta Cecilia,” “La Hamaca Grande,” “Mercedes,” “Perdi Las Abarcas,” “Dolor Guajiro,” “La Espinita,” and “Suegra Buena.” He passed away in Cartagena on March 1, 2000.
