Andrew Gold was an American singer, songwriter, and producer known for (co-)influencing the 1970s soft rock sound. He was born on August 2, 1951, in Burbank, California, and passed away from heart failure on June 3, 2011, in Los Angeles, California. Gold had three daughters from his first marriage, one of whom, Emily, is also a musician. In the early 1980s, he was briefly engaged to someone, and later, until his death, he was married to another individual who manages his legacy.
