Andwella was a musical group that emerged after a line-up change in 1970, during which they transitioned to a UK label. They recorded two albums and two singles with a more mainstream sound, drawing influences from Traffic and The Band. Both albums featured entirely original compositions, except for one instrumental track on "The World's End," which was released shortly after their name change. David Lewis, a multi-instrumentalist and acclaimed songwriter, recorded a privately-pressed album in 1970 and continued to release solo albums. He had previously played with other groups and was part of the short-lived ensemble McCullochs, Struthers And Patterson, alongside other members. After Andwella, he joined a group called White Line with his brother Jimmy. Another member went on to work with ex-Thunderclap Newman. Additionally, Andwella is noted to have been the backing band on an album produced by Lewis in 1970.
