Andy Mac is an English saxophonist and oboe player, known for his work as a film and television composer. He was born on July 23, 1946, in Lostwithiel, Cornwall, and grew up in Pimlico, central London. A founding member of the band Roxy Music, Andy became deeply involved with avant-garde and electronic music during his college years, drawing inspiration from composers like John Cage, Morton Feldman, and Karl Heinz Stockhausen. It was at this time that he met Brian Eno, an art student at nearby Winchester College of Art. After the sudden death of his wife in early 1992, Andy paused most of his musical activities to raise his children but resumed his career in music in 1993.
