Angel Canales is a Puerto Rican salsa singer born on June 29, 1950, in Santurce, Puerto Rico. He has recorded under the Tico and Fania Records labels but grew weary of the disputes and contractual issues with these labels. Consequently, he established his own label, SELANAC, leveraging his background as a professional jeweler. Angel was the former singer of Markolino Diamond's original "Conjunto Sabor." Following Markolino Diamond's death from a drug overdose, Angel assumed leadership of the band. Unfortunately, due to personal health complications, he has since retired from the music business and relocated to Miami, Florida, with his wife.
