Angela Bofill was an American soul, jazz, and R&B singer and songwriter, born on May 2, 1954, in the Bronx, New York City, NY. She gained recognition for her powerful voice and emotive performances. Bofill is best known for her signature song "I Try" and her duet on the ballad "You're A Special Part Of Me" in 1984. Throughout her career, she also recorded several dance hits, including "Too Tough," "Angel Of The Night," and "Something About You." Angela Bofill passed away on June 13, 2024, in Vallejo, CA.
