Angela Carrasco is a Dominican singer born on January 25, 1951, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She later moved to Madrid, Spain, where she achieved significant success. Carrasco gained her first hit when she played Mary Magdalene in the first Spanish version of "Jesus Christ Superstar" in the mid-1970s. In the late 1970s, she became popular with songs like "Cariño Mío" ("Love of Mine") and "Quererte a Tí" ("Loving You"), with the latter bringing her considerable exposure throughout Latin America, the United States, and Europe. She made a notable comeback with albums such as "Ese hombre es..." and "La Candela." Her single "Boca Rosa" reached number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart in late 1988.
