Angelo Badalamenti was an American composer, arranger, conductor, keyboardist, producer, and vocalist, born on March 22, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York. He passed away on December 11, 2022, in Lincoln Park, New Jersey. Badalamenti was well-known for his work in film and television, particularly for his collaborations with director David Lynch, for which he won a Grammy for the soundtrack of the TV series Twin Peaks. As a teenager, he played the piano and French horn before studying at the Manhattan School of Music. After graduating, he secured a position at a music publisher, where he wrote songs under a pen name throughout the 1960s and early 1970s. In recognition of his contributions to music, he received a lifetime achievement award at the 2008 World Soundtrack Awards and the Henry Mancini award in 2011.
