Anna Vissi is a Cypriot éntekhno and pop/dance pop singer, songwriter, label co-owner, radio producer, and stage actress. She was born on December 20, 1957, in Pyla, Larnaca, Cyprus. At the age of thirteen, she won first prize in a song contest held by a TV station. In 1973, her family relocated to Athens, Greece. Vissi gained recognition by winning first place at the 16th Song Festival of Thessaloniki on September 16, 1977. She represented Greece in the 25th Eurovision Song Contest on April 19, 1980, and later represented Cyprus in the 27th Eurovision Song Contest on April 24, 1982, with the song "Μόνο Η Αγάπη." In the early 1980s, her collaboration with a prominent figure in the music industry prompted a shift in her musical style from éntekhno to pop/dance pop. In 1982, they founded a record label together. Vissi married him on May 14, 1983, in Larnaca, Cyprus, and they welcomed their daughter later that year.
