Ant Trip Ceremony was an American free form psychedelic rock band formed at Oberlin College, Ohio, during the 1967/68 school year. The band released an LP in the spring of 1968, primarily as a document before the members graduated and went their separate ways. As their time at school came to an end, they recorded original songs and covers with the assistance of fellow student David Crosby (not the well-known David Crosby). The recordings took place on campus but were mastered at Cleveland Recording. A total of three hundred copies of the LP were pressed at Pama and sold at the college bookstore, as well as through personal connections. While the band's sound was influenced by San Francisco psychedelic bands, many of their songs also featured a solid rock and roll foundation, reflecting the members' earlier experiences in rock and blues bands.
