Antibalas is a Brooklyn-based collective of musicians founded in 1998 by a bandleader. The name "Antibalas" translates to "bulletproof" or literally "anti-bullets." The group has extensively toured and performed in over forty countries across five continents, promoting their updated style of traditional Afrobeat music, reminiscent of the genre as once played by its pioneers.
