**Antilles Bio** The Antilles project began in 1999 when David, after a period of musical stagnation, purchased a new synthesizer workstation and started composing instrumental pop songs. A website was launched to share his music with the world, and from 2000 to 2002, several instrumental tracks were made available for download. In 2000, a cover of Alphaville’s “Jerusalem” was featured on the tribute CD “We Heard the Call.” After a few years, David grew tired of instrumental music and took a break to focus on writing lyrics. Following this, he sought a vocalist to elevate Antilles, eventually discovering folk singer Anne Christine, who had a background in music and vocal improvisation from the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia. Recognizing her potential as an electro-pop singer, David built a studio and expanded his equipment. In 2005, Anne Christine contributed her voice to the project for the first time on the track “A Different Place,” originally an instrumental piece. Their collaboration blossomed, and in 2006, they recorded “You & Me” and “Something New,” which established the signature Antilles sound and garnered significant attention online, including from DJs and record companies. In 2007, “You & Me” was included as the opening track on a synthpop vinyl compilation released by French label Cosmic Radio.
