Anton Fier was an American drummer, composer, producer, and bandleader, born on June 20, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio. He passed away on September 14, 2022, in Zürich, Switzerland, at the age of 66. Fier began his career in music as a teenager working in a record store and emerged as a drummer in Cleveland's proto-punk scene. He later moved to New York, where he worked at the SoHo Music Gallery record store. In 1978, he joined a band after responding to an ad in the Village Voice and subsequently became a member of the Pedestrians. He toured with various groups and founded and led an experimental rock group from 1981 to 1996, which featured a constantly changing lineup. In the 2000s and early 2010s, Fier shifted his focus to music production.
