Antonín Dvorak was a Czech composer known for his romantic music, characterized by a synthesis of classicism and romanticism. He was born on September 8, 1841, in Nelahozeves, which was part of the Austrian Empire and is now in the Czech Republic. Dvorak passed away on May 1, 1904, in Prague, then part of Austria-Hungary and also now in the Czech Republic. He was influenced by the folk music of Moravia and his native Bohemia, and his diverse body of work includes symphonies, symphonic poems, concerti, choral works, operas, and chamber music.
