Real Name: Antonis Kyritsis Antonis Kyritsis was born and raised in the village of Koskinas in the Karditsa region, where he and his two brothers, Kostas and Nikos, were part of an agricultural family. His father, Thomas, was a teacher and chanter, from whom he received his first exposure to Byzantine music. From a young age, he listened to folk songs and often heard his mother, Fotini, singing at home. Encouraged by his teachers and fellow villagers, he began singing while in elementary school. After completing high school, his deep desire was to become a teacher, but upon moving to Athens in 1964, he was captivated by music and studied Byzantine Music and Vocal Technique. In 1976, he released his first recording with the late composer and lyricist Apostolos Tsampouris, titled "Ta Syncharikia," followed by "Ipiros and Thessaly." This was followed by other albums, including "Vounosparmeni Ipiros," "Ta Thessalika," "To Kastano thelei krasi," "Ipirotika 1&2," "Ta Moraitika 1&2," "Ta Sarakatsanika," and "Otan akouo Ipiro."
