Gavin King, known by his artist name Aphrodite, is a renowned Drum 'n' Bass DJ and producer. Born in Aberystwyth, Wales, and raised in Eltham, he is recognized as one of the original pioneers of the rave scene and Jungle music. He runs a label and has collaborated with Michael Hearn, also known as . From 1988 to 1990, he co-promoted a house night at Warwick University, which inspired his artist name. Additionally, he hosted a regular Sunday show on the pirate radio station Pulse FM until its closure in 1995.
