Aphrodite's Child was a Greek pop rock psychedelic band active from 1967 to 1972. After the breakup of a previous Greek band, members Demis Roussos (singer) and Vangelis (drummer) moved to London to pursue success outside of Greece but ended up in Paris, where they formed Aphrodite's Child. The band achieved significant success with their single "Rain and Tears," inspired by Pachelbel's famous canon, which topped charts in several European countries. Over their career, they recorded three albums, gaining considerable recognition in the European music scene. Vangelis increasingly sought to explore his experimental musical direction, which was evident in their album "666." Following its release, the group disbanded, and both Roussos and Vangelis embarked on successful solo careers. In 1977, after the recording of Roussos' "Magic" album, they discussed a potential reunion of the band, but it ultimately did not materialize.
