Archie James Cavanaugh began his music career in the 7th grade with guitar lessons from Billy Bean in Kake, Alaska, where he grew up. By the 8th grade, he had formed his first band, "Poor Boys," alongside members Pete Johnson, Rick Austin, and JR. Berkeley. Throughout his grade school and high school years, Archie played band music, and he has continued to pursue music throughout his life. He recorded his first album with notable musicians, including a renowned Native saxophonist and a songwriter for "Redbone," who helped mix the tracks of his album. His CDs, "Love Birds" and "Alaska Jazz," were recorded in Port Orchard, Washington, at a studio run by Jeff, a Grammy Award-winning musician and master recorder who ensured the perfection of his work. Archie remains active in music and aspires to continue playing well into his 80s, inspired by the legacy of BB King.
