Art Fleury, originally known as AMG, is a musical group from Brescia that emerged in the mid-1970s. Though they made their record debut in the new wave era, their sound aligns more closely with avant-garde groups from the progressive era than with other Italian releases from 1980. The group, comprised of members who were still teenagers at the time, had the opportunity to perform before the influential band Area at Milan's Parco Lambro Festival in 1976 and later opened for Henry Cow during some Italian dates, facilitated by their collaboration with Cooperativa L'Orchestra. The name Art Fleury was adopted around 1977, but their first record was not released until 1980, through Italian Records, a small label from Bologna dedicated to promoting new wave groups.
