Arthur Conley, born Lee Roberts on January 4, 1946, in McIntosh, Georgia, was an American soul singer known for his impactful career in music. He began his journey with a group and released three singles in Atlanta before going solo, where he recorded a single in Baltimore. Conley was signed to a label by a prominent figure in the music industry, resulting in the release of two singles. Following a series of additional singles, he achieved notable success with ATCO Records, particularly with his hit "Sweet Soul Music" in 1967. He remained with ATCO until the early 1970s before changing labels again. In 1975, he relocated to Europe, initially moving to the U.K., then Belgium, where he recorded a single, and eventually settled in the Netherlands. In 1980, he legally changed his name to Lee Roberts, adopting his middle name and his mother's maiden name. That same year, he released an album recorded on January 8, 1980. Arthur Conley passed away on November 17, 2003, in Ruurlo, Netherlands.
