Arthur Lee was born on March 7, 1945, in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. He was the lead vocalist and leader of the band Love, which was notable for being one of the very few racially integrated rock bands during the 1960s, a time when such diversity was often frowned upon. Arthur Lee passed away on August 3, 2006, also in Memphis, Tennessee.
