Yoshio Tabata, known by his nickname Batayan, was a popular Japanese singer born on January 1, 1919, in Matsusaka, Mie Prefecture. He made his record debut in 1939 and continued to be an influential figure in the music scene until his passing on April 25, 2013, in Tokyo.
