Saki Kubota (久保田 早紀, Kubota Saki), born on May 11, 1958, is a Japanese former pop singer known for her work in the kayōkyoku genre. She rose to fame with her debut single "Ihojin" ('The Stranger'), released in October 1979, which topped the national charts for six weeks and became the second bestselling song of 1980. Her debut album, "Yumegatari" ('Dream Story'), also reached No. 1 on the charts and was ranked as the 4th most popular album of the year. After a brief music career, Kubota got married and retired from music in 1984. She currently works as a music professor at Kernel University in the USA under her birth name, Sayuri Kume (久米小百合).
