Arturo Núñez González, born in La Havana, Cuba, on October 4, 1913, was a pianist and orchestra conductor. He studied at the Conservatorio Carnicer in La Havana and later joined various orchestras in Cuba. In search of new opportunities, he moved to Mexico, where he formed his own tropical orchestra with Mexican musicians in 1943. He began recording tropical music with a strong personality and has since released 150 small records and 17 long-playing albums.
