Arturo Núñez González, born in La Havana, Cuba, on October 4th, 1913, was a pianist and orchestra director. He studied at the Conservatorio Carnicer in La Habana and later became a member of several orchestras in Cuba. Seeking new opportunities, he moved to Mexico, where he formed his own tropical orchestra with Mexican musicians in 1943. Núñez began recording tropical music with a strong personality and has since produced 150 small records and 17 long-playing albums.
