Aru Takamura
Aru Takamura was born in 1961 and at the age of 16, in 1977, she declared her ambition to become a singer, joining a rock band. Initially, she focused on covering songs by bands like Kiss and Aerosmith. Later, she explored soul music, drawing inspiration from artists such as Rufus and Cheryl Lynn, which helped her develop her distinctive voice. Eventually, she realized that merely copying others was not enough and began to embrace Japanese lyrics in her own style. After facing numerous challenges, she made her record debut in 1985 with her first album, "ARU FIRST." Tragically, she passed away from cervical cancer on August 14, 2014.
