Asa-Chang & Junray is a band formed in 1998 by Japanese percussionist Asa Chang, who was the founder and original bandmaster of another group before leaving it in 1993. The band was created in collaboration with programmer and guitarist. In 2000, they were joined by tabla player. The group performs live using a portable soundsystem called 'Jun-Ray Tronics', which is reflected in their name; however, 'junray' also translates to 'pilgrimage'.
