Asa Chang & Junray is a band founded by Japanese percussionist Asa Chang, who was the original bandmaster of another group before leaving in 1993. In 1998, he formed Asa Chang & Junray with programmer and guitarist Junray. The band expanded in 2000 with the addition of tabla player K. They perform live using a portable soundsystem called 'Jun-Ray Tronics', which inspired the band's name, as 'junray' also means 'pilgrimage'.
