Asa Chang & Junray is a band formed by Japanese percussionist Asa Chang, who was the founder and original bandmaster of a previous group. After leaving that group in 1993, he established Asa Chang & Junray in 1998, collaborating with programmer and guitarist Junray. In 2000, they were joined by tabla player. The band performs live using a portable sound system called 'Jun-Ray Tronics', which inspired the band's name; 'junray' also means 'pilgrimage'.
