Asha Bhosle, born on September 8, 1933, in Sangli, Maharashtra, India, is an acclaimed Indian singer renowned for her extensive Bollywood playback career, although her musical repertoire spans much wider. She is the sister of several notable singers and a composer. Asha was married to music director R.D. Burman in her second marriage from 1980 until his death in 1994. Throughout her illustrious career, she is believed to have sung over 12,000 songs and appeared in approximately 950 films. Asha Bhosle is also known by various names, including Asha, Asha Bhonsale, Asha Bhonsle, Asha Bhonsley, Asha Bhosale, and Asha Bhosley.
